Nursery Outdoor Play

Divider

In our outdoor play area there are opportunities for every child to be whatever they want to be. Any time, any day.

We don’t keep our children indoors just because of the weather. Wrapped up warm or sun-screened, we’re always ready for fun outside.  It’s a chance for our growing children to make their own decisions about how and where they spend their days – another life skill that will stay with them always.

Intrepid explorer. Green-fingered gardener. Builder, chef, artist. What do we want to be today?
Our outdoor play is all about inspiration and fun, in a wonderful learning environment.

We’ve created a space that lets our children enjoy the moment. Whether they want to plant, build, explore, or just make a great big splash, they’ll find the opportunity here. They won’t know it, but while they’re having a brilliant time, our children are discovering life skills. They’ll make choices about what they do and how they do it. They’ll learn to care their environment. And they’ll enjoy the delights of working alone and with friends on a common cause. We always have staff on hand to help, teach and protect our youngsters as they play in our outside areas.

Our Green World ♡

We’ve worked hard to achieve our Green Flag in line with the Eco Schools Awards. It’s testament to our commitment to the environment and everything that’s green. That includes our greenhouse, built entirely from recycled bottles.

We help our children grow by giving them the space and time to plant and taste their own food. Vegetables, strawberries and blueberries flourish under the green thumbs of our young people. Or if they just want to dig, there’s a place for that too.

Sharing a love of outdoor life is an important part of how we play. That’s why we invite families and the local community to an annual sale of plants grown and cherished by our children.

Discover Paint Pots Nursery Garden

Imagination runs wild when we’re in the garden. We give our children the time and space to follow their dreams.

We’ve created a magical home for our fairy hunters, edged by flowers and populated with fairy dolls.

Our herb garden is a great place to stand and explore the world through sight and smell. And at the end of play we’ll pick some herbs to use in creative activities.

In our wild garden we learn to live with nature at its best. It’s where we can explore and discover the world around us.

In the willow dome we can let our dreams come to life. What characters and games can we conjure up today?

Inspiring Activities

Sometimes we all want to just let off steam. That’s the time to take to the bikes, tackle the obstacle course, clamber on the tree swing or attempt the climbing tyres. And when the rain’s been in town, the puddles demand a big splashy jump too. It’s all play that makes the most of young energies in an exciting but safe environment.

When it’s time to slow down a little, we’ve plenty of wood, pipes and reels to get some serious construction going. There’s rain water too, to collect and use in our growing spaces.

For more soothing but just as inspirational moments, our children can take time out to make some music with our outdoor sound walls.  In quieter times there’s always arts and crafts to discover underneath our pergola.
